This is one of a series of “daily trivia” themed animated ads running in Japan. The idea is a person going about their business is suddenly confronted by a talking soybean that offers them a morsel of interesting, if slightly depressing, trivia. The creativity, aesthetic and humor in these ads will be familiar to anyone who’s seen the excellent anime series Azumanga Daioh.
