Writing about the rainy season is a bit like tap-dancing about blancmange. The reader might make the imaginative leap required to understand that it’s milk or cream and sugar thickened with gelatin, cornstarch or Irish moss, often flavored with almonds and that it’s usually set in a mould and served cold, but he still hasn’t tasted it.
